About
Associate Professor Laura Scardamaglia is a highly experienced Consultant Dermatologist. She is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Melbourne and a fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatology. She has been a consultant dermatologist since 2004 and has experience practising in all aspects of dermatology including surgical dermatology, skin cancer and paediatric medical dermatology. Professor Scardamaglia is also the Head of Dermatology at Western Health, as well as Head of Immunobullous and Vascular Anomalies clinics at The Royal Melbourne Hospital and the Head of Paediatric Dermatology at Sunshine Hospital.
Furthermore, Professor Scardamaglia graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1994 and completed her training in dermatology in 2003. She has since specialised in areas such as Complex Medical Dermatology, Immunological Dermatology disorders, Connective Tissue Diseases and more.
Additionally, Professor Scardamaglia is devoted to mentoring trainees in the field of dermatology and she is a senior lecturer to medical students at the University of Melbourne.
Dr Laura Scardamaglia is dedicated to ensuring that patients from all walks of life are able to access expertise and best quality up-to-date care in dermatology in public and private practice. She practices holistic, compassionate and best evidence dermatology in her hospital clinics and private rooms in Footscray. She welcomes all referrals from GPs and specialists, and although she does not practice cosmetic dermatology, she is happy to provide objective advice and guidance in this area and refer accordingly.
A/Prof Scardamaglia is available for new and review patients on Monday afternoons, Tuesday and Friday mornings.
